1. Length of the horns

Measurement from the base of the sheath, following the previous curvature, to the tip of the hook. If a horn is blunt, only the actual length is measured.

2. Height of the horns.

Measurement from the suture of the skull, between both horns, to the highest point of the curvature of the hooks. This point is determined with a ruler located at the top of the curvature.

In naturalized trophies, 5 mm will be added to this measurement, to compensate for the thickness of the skin.

3. Thicker horn perimeter.

Measured in the thickest section, including the resin.

4. Separation of the horns.

Maximum distance measured from the center of the horns, taken at the highest point of the curvature. For horns whose separation is abnormal, a measurement greater than the height will not be estimated.

5. Age points.

– 6 to 10 years old: 1 point.
– From 11 to 12 years old: 2 points.
– 13 years or older: 3 points.

The first two years are normally not distinguished.

6. Penalty for resin layer.

The value obtained by multiplying a comparable width without resin by four will be deducted from the total value obtained by multiplying the maximum circumference measurement by four, including resin.
The penalty will be the remainder reduced by one point.

The penalty cannot exceed 5 points.
